Togo is taking an important step toward strengthening its pharmaceutical regulatory framework. The Togolese authorities are currently finalizing the draft decree establishing a national Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.

A strategic workshop held in Kpalimé in July 2026 brought together pharmaceutical sector experts and key stakeholders to finalize the legal framework and define a roadmap aimed at strengthening regulatory oversight, improving pharmaceutical governance, and intensifying the fight against substandard and falsified medical products.

This initiative represents a major milestone in improving the safety, quality, and effectiveness of medicines in Togo, while contributing to stronger public health protection.

AREMA supports pharmaceutical companies in Togo and across the region through Regulatory Affairs support, Local Representative services, Pharmacovigilance activities, and regulatory compliance solutions.
